Candidate for the Lingfield Division: The Parishes of Lingfield, Dormans, Felbridge, Horne and Burstow

Nick Greenfield

About Me

I was born in Sussex and grew up in a farming community. I studied, lived and worked in London for many years. I have been a Solicitor since 1989 and, in 1997, I started my own “high street” solicitors’ business in Chichester.

I have served as both a part-time and a full-time District Judge, sitting across Sussex and Surrey. My last appointment was at Dartford County Court before I retired in 2016.

I was also subsequently a Civil Registrar for Westminster City Council for five years.

I have been a resident in Lingfield for five years, living in the heart of the village.

Why Vote for me?

For many years, the national parties and independent councillors have controlled Surrey County Council and Tandridge District Council. This year’s council tax rose by a huge 4.99%. If, like me, you think that residents aren’t getting value for money, it time to change that control.

No one needs faceless councillors content to sit on committees and not engage with you, the voters. Some have been doing it so long they have lost touch with what people actually need . . .

The new East Surrey Unitary Authority will have just two councillors to cover all five villages, hamlets, outlying farms and dwellings. It will be vital for those councillors to have local knowledge and work hard to protect the interests of local residents.

I am not a professional politician, but a local resident determined to see that local interests are properly represented in the new council.

Being a unitary councillor won’t just be another role for someone to collect. It will be a full-time job. I’m retired, and I have that time. It will also be difficult and challenging. The unitary authority is taking over from two councils, and no one expects it to be easy. As a solicitor and former District Judge, I am used to working in challenging environments and have the knowledge, skill and experience to make the role effective.

What makes me different?

If elected, I will not just disappear. I will work closely with the five Parish Councils,  residents groups, community associations, the Police and – most importantly— you, the voters. I will be the voice that puts our communities first.

I will hold regular surgeries at our community centres. Come and tell me your problems or concerns!

My telephone number is 07538 435994 — call me and tell me what you need!

No other candidate has promised this, nor will they.

Why Reform UK?

Having voted for one of the mainstream political parties all my life, I have concluded that Britain is indeed broken - on a national and local level. Reform UK is the only party that can bring about change. The local elections on 7 May 2026 allow all of us to have a say in how the new East Surrey Unitary Authority will be run. We are all worried about how our Council Taxes will be spent, and the lack of properly managed local services. By voting for Reform UK councillors, who care deeply about local issues, we can make a change for the better!
